Summers Almost Here!

Summer is just around the corner, it feels like only yesterday we were talking about spring! But no matter the season, Tanylan Farm and the surrounding landscape makes for a fantastic getaway, with plenty of things to do near Cartharmen. With dog-friendly beaches, historic castles, and scenic cycling trails just waiting for you to come and explore them.

Hit The Beaches

What is summer without a good beach? Tanylan Farm is situated just a walk away from the coast and just a short drive away from popular beach spots. You can find the perfect spot to relax with the sun, sea, and sand easily, Carmathen’s sand beaches are some of the most beautiful in Wales. They’re filled with rock pools to explore and plenty of places to lay your beach towel.

Stay In One Of Our Cottages

Our cottages make for a perfect rest stop to plan your day’s activities and create unforgettable holiday memories. Each has its own enclosed gardens, furnished with hot tubs and BBQs, for an authentic summer getaway.

Many of our cottages such as Wrth y Nant welcome holidaymakers with dogs, with the first dog staying free. You can take them on a trail, or even to the beach. Many beaches across the coast welcome four-legged friends, making them a great place to walk and have a dog friendly holiday in Wales.

Boating Around Carmarthen Bay

Just a short drive up the road is the town of Ferryside, home to a number of fantastic beaches and boating activities. Their yacht club accepts holiday memberships and comes with changing and storage facilities.

Carmarthen Bay Ferries also offers a wide range of hour-long boat trips for the estuary and surrounding areas. With some boats leaving at sunset, you could finish a day trip filled with exploration and excitement on a beautiful high note.

Summer Fishing

This is the time of year when fish are most active, especially in the nearby estuary – well recognised as an excellent spot for catch-and-release sea bass fishing. Just sit back, cast your reel, relax, and don’t forget to take pics of your catch. Pair that with one of our camping pitches, and you’ll have a great nature-filled holiday experience.

There are also enclosed fishing areas for one-off family friendly experiences in the surrounding towns, such as Pantybedw Fishery, 5 miles east of Carmarthen. These fisheries stock a wide range of fish for you to try and catch, and some will even let you keep your catches. Now has never been a better time to share the love of fishing with your family.
