We recommend visiting Kidwelly for great local shops and amenities as well as a day of walking around Kidwelly Castle. It is the ideal location for kids to adventure!

The Derwen Trail is a great starting point for families and beginners alike. What’s more, you’ll be able to experience Carmarthenshire’s wildlife. Rare birds and rare plants! Budding botanists can keep an eye out for orchids in the flower-rich meadows around Cwmdu. If you’re lucky you may even spot the Red Kites that make the area their home. Bike rides around Cil-y-Cwm offer a great chance of spotting this bird. Maybe you want to guarantee to see some rare birds? The RSPB Gwenffrd-dinas Nature Reserve may be worth visiting as they have all sorts of birdlife from wagtails to dippers.
