Along with plenty of space for camping and touring caravans, situated in beautiful Carmarthenshire just a stone’s throw away from a range of activities that are sure to suit everyone!

Head to the Beach

Who doesn’t love the beach and what better time of year to explore the stunning coastline of Wales with your family? Spend hours of fun on the long sandy beaches, playing frisbee, exploring the life found in the local rock pools, kayaking the coastline or body boarding in the waves, the beach is a great playground for family fun. Tanylan Farm is just 400 yards from the golden sands of Carmarthen Bay, perfect for all the family.

Beautiful Country Walks

There is true beauty and magic to the area surrounding Tanylan Farm. Get the whole family out, to wander, discover and explore the local countryside and let their imaginations run free? With 870 miles of the Welsh coastal path to explore, there is plenty of unspoilt coastline to discover, an ideal activity for both adults and children alike. Take a walk through the nearby village of Llansteffan, which offers cliff top views, quiet country roads and hidden coastal bays. To top it all off and to definitely keep the kids entertained visit the archaic ruins of Llansteffan castle perch on the headland above the estuary and Carmarthen Bay. Then there is Pembrey Country Park, set inside 500 acres of peaceful green woodland alongside 8 miles of the golden sands of Carmarthen Bay, the ideal location to get out into nature and soak in all the stunning views this walk has to offer! There are so many spectacular walks to get lost on and enjoy some quality bonding time with the family, in fact too many to name!

Get out to a family friendly farm!

Visit one of the many family-friendly farms and animal sanctuaries in the area. What better way to keep the children entertained than letting them delve into their curious nature, with feeding and petting animals. Remarkably, there are a variety of different animal sanctuaries and parks within the local area that offer something for everyone, whatever animals you and your children love! Starting with Wiggleys Fun Farm, a perfect option for those with younger children, which offers a large indoor and outdoor adventure play area, babies barnyard, plenty of farm animals to see and even a woodland walk! The Wales Ape & Monkey Sanctuary nearby is the perfect place to let your own little monkeys explore, there is also Amelia Trust Farm and The Owl Sanctuary. Not to mention Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo for a full days experience, all within driving distance of Tanylan Farm.

Thrill Seekers

If you are looking for more of a thrill seeking experience, head to Brechfa with your mountain bikes and discover Mountain Bike Wales. The Derwen trail is the starting point for families and novices and a great introduction to mountain biking, but for the more adventurous of your party head to the Raven Trail which features the thrilling black graded ride.

The Bird of Prey Centre offers a fun packed day out for all ages. With amazing shows every day, each starring different species of raptor, from Golden eagles, Red Kites and Peregrine Falcons which fly just inches away from you against the amazing backdrop of the Botanical Garden of Wales. You can even have a go at flying a bird yourself!

Take in some History

Explore Aberglasney, a fully restored grade II* listed mansion then wonder through one of Wales’ finest gardens, with its fully restored Elizabethan Cloister Garden, the only surviving example of its kind in the UK today. In total there are over 10 acres with 20 different garden styles to enjoy. Or visit Dinefwr, the historic Newton House surrounded by a national nature reserve and 18th century landscape deer park.
If castles seem more appealing take a look at Kidwelly castle a Norman stronghold, possibly one of the greatest castle of Wales, a medieval fortress, then there is Carreg Cennen Castle, which dates back to the 13th century, or Carmarthen Castle and Dryslwyn Castle which is a native Welsh castle, halfway between Llandeilo and Carmarthen in Wales. Carmarthenshire is rich in history and is just waiting to be explored.
